Rollins Knocks off SSC Leader Lynn

WINTER PARK, Fla. (December 1, 2018) – Rollins jumped out to a 17-8 lead after the first quarter and never looked back, running away with a 70-41 win over previously undefeated Lynn on Saturday. 

The Tars improve to 4-3 overall and 2-0 in Sunshine State Conference play while Lynn drops to 5-1, 1-1 SSC. 

Carly McLendon led the way with a career-high 22 points while also hauling in 10 rebounds. The senior was 10-of-12 from the field and hit both free throw attempts. Rachel Lia and Yari Martinez-Toro both posted 10 points for Rollins. 

Jaylen Snipes was the lone Fighting Knight to score in double figures, netted 11. Kevyn McKae added seven. 

Rollins dominated nearly every stat, outshooting Lynn 45 percent to 33 percent and winning the rebound battle 41-23. 

The Tars held Lynn to just seven first half field goals and posted a 37-17 lead at the break. The advantage ballooned to as many as 31 (67-36) with 3:34 to play.
