WINTER PARK, FLA. (January 5, 2019) – Rollins hosted NAIA No. 1 Savannah College of Art and Design to start the new year and fell to the Bees 156-106.

The Tars started out strong in the 200 yard Medley Relay. Marisa Gingerich, Darrelle Pawley, Beatriz Olivieri and Sydney Willis stopped the clock in 1:54.26 finishing runner-up.

Beatriz Olivieri had two first place finishes on the day in the 200 yard Butterfly (2:07.69) pulling away from second place by 6 seconds. Also, in the 500 yard Freestyle she posted a winning time of 5:18.61.

Makenzie Grider finished third in the 1000 yard Freestyle (11:25.86) followed by Emma Jones with fourth place (11:27.03).

200 yard Freestyle Shae Knox finished fourth place with a time of 2:01.61. Sydney Willis with fifth place (2:02.22) in same event.

For the 100 yard Backstroke, three Tars finish on top. Marisa Gingerich with first place (1:02.43), Macy Trattner in third place (1:04.89) and Cara Dealy in fourth place hitting the wall in 1:06.22.

Darrelle Pawley finished fourth in the 100 yard Breaststroke (1:12.90).

Grace Hansen grabbed two runner-up and a third place finishes. She was second place for the 200 yard Backstroke (2:14.35), 200 yard IM (2:17.35), and third place in the 200 yard Butterfly (2:15.30).

Maya Thompson won the 50 Yard Freestyle in (25.08). Followed by Anna Van Zyverden (25.70) putting her in third place.

Van Zyverden finished runner-up in the 100 yard Freestyle (56.30).

Gringerich won over SCAD in the 200 yard Backstroke (2:12.72) followed by teammate Alana Goodwin in fourth place (2:21.23).

Jaimie Mans placed fourth in the 200 yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:37.25.

In the 100 yard Butterfly Shae Knox took runner-up (1:02.14) and Cara Dealy placed third (1:03.42).

Sydney Willis placed third in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:19.81.

The Tars close the day with the 200 yard Freestyle Relay. Sam Shelly, Oliverieri, Knox, and Van Zyverden wrapped up the meet placing second (1:42.63).

The Tars are back in the pool Friday, January 25 traveling to Florida Tech.
