Tars Open Kiawah Island Invite Tied for Ninth

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. (September 16, 2019) – Rollins opened the season with a five-over 293 on Monday and grabbed a tie for ninth at the Kiawah Island Invitational.

The 20th-ranked Tars matched first rounds with Lenoir-Rhyne and are one back of Lee in eighth. Host USC Aiken fired a 12-under 276 to pace the field while Valdosta State is second at nine-under. Lander and Mount Olive are tied for third (-6).

Newcomer Danny Taggart leads the way for the Tars, shooting a two-under 70 to sit tied for 13th. Trystan Perkins is a shot back in a tie for 18th with a one-under 71.

Morgan Egloff is tied for 52nd at three-over (75), Will Hall is tied for 63rd with a five-over 77 and Nick Diebel is tied for 87th after a round of 83.

Lander's Jon Parker shot a six-under 66 and leads the field by a stroke.

The final round of the Kiawah Island Invitational is set for Tuesday, Oct. 16 at Osprey Point Golf Course.
