WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (October 6, 2018) – The No. 2 Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish proved too much for the Tars, in a 1-0 Sunshine State Conference duel. Rollins falls to 7-6-0 overall, and 1-6-0 in the SSC after the loss. PBA improves to 12-1-0 and 6-1-0 in conference action.
Rollins took nine shots in the match, putting a pair on target. George New and Damian Clarke each took two shots, and each accounted for one of the Tars' attempts on goal. Eidur Ivarsson played the full 90 minutes in net, making three saves. Alex Stoiljkovic tallied the match's only goal, scoring for the Sailfish from the penalty spot. Elliott Barker made two saves for Palm Beach Atlantic.
Both teams had chances in the opening minutes, but both keepers were up to the task. Rollins commited a foul in the box just past the 20 minute mark, and Stoiljkovic converted his spot kick in the 22nd minute, putting Rollins on the back foot. Rollins would take four second half shots, put one on target, and earn two corners in their search of an equalizer, but could not convert.
The Tars will look to rebound on Wednesday, October 10, when they host Eckerd at Barker Family Stadium. Kickoff against the Tritons is set for 7 p.m.
