Tars Set Two More Records in Day 3 of SSC Championship

CLEARWATER, Fla. (February 24, 2018) – The Rollins men's swimming team set two more school records to bring its count to eight through three days at the 2018 Sunshine State Conference Championships. The Tars are serving as host of the event at The Long Center in Clearwater.  

Rollins is sixth in the team standings with 159 points. Nova Southeastern (665) and Florida Southern (622) are in a tight battle at the top of the standings. Florida Tech is third with 396 points.  


Freshman Alex Norcini continues his breakout championship, grabbing two sixth place finishes. The Lilburn, Georgia native set a school record and earned an NCAA B cut in the 500-yard freestyle, posting a time of 4:29.85. He had set the school record of 4:30.84 earlier in the day.

Norcini teamed with Elliot Wylie, Luke Waite and Asa Marvel to take sixth in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 7:00.27.

Dan Sulkowski set a new school record in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 57.00. His mark is .2 seconds faster than the previous record he set in the prelims.

Wylie picked up a 10th place finish in the 100-yard backstroke in 52.11 while Peter Haddad was 16th in 55.32.
