Pregame:

The Tars haven't played since February 22 at Valdosta State, and will look to bounce back after the lenghty layoff. The last four matches for the Tars have been against nationally ranked opponents. Wayne state has won seven of their first eight matches to start the year, and will add games against Sacred Heart and Embry-Riddle before they face the Tars. Bluefield State is also hot, winners of three straight with a game to be played Sunday against Coastal Georgia. Ferris State has struggled, dropping five straight. they will be doing a tour of the Sunshine State, facing off against four different SSC teams this week.

Scouting the Tars:

Andrea Brignacca has been the bright spot for Rollins during a tough start to the season. The Italian sophomore has a sterling 5-1 record in singles matches, playing mainly out of position five. Atakan Gezer is the only other Tar with multiple singles wins (2-4 on the year). The two also have a pair of doubles wins. Mikkel Baumann and Freddy Danielson are sporting a 4-2 record as doubles partners in the third position.

Scouting the Warriors:

Wayne State sits at 7-1 on the season, with their only loss coming against D-I Toledo on February 23rd. Niklas Karcz sits at #18 in the ITA singles poll, and has backed it up with four position one wins on the year. Pieree Renaudie has been a formidable sidekick as well, chalking up four wins of his own form position two. The same two teammates are ranked as the #7 combo in the Midwest region, but it is actually David Solar and Dom Spicer who have carried the load, winning sveen of their eight doubles matches to start the year.

Scouting the Big Blues:

Bluefield State also has only one blemish to their record, starting the year 5-1 thus far. Tom Schmieta checks in at #29 in the national singles poll, but the talent doesn't stop there. Schmieta is also #1 in the Atlanic Region poll, and is joined by four of his teammates ... Mohammed Belcora, Luke Busse, Zak Khalil, and Frederick Bau Madsen ... in the Top 20. Madsen and Khalil also combine to form the #2 ranked doubles team in the Atlantic.

Scouting the Bulldogs:

Ferris State has had a tough go of it to start their spring season, sitting at 1-5 on the year. Yannic Alexander Mader is the headliner for the group, ranked #16 nationally and #2 in the Midwest Region as a singles player. He has backed up the ranking with an impressive 5-1 mark in singles competition, playing from position one. As a team, they are 13-23 in singles play, and 2-4 in doubles.

Up Next:

Rollins will be back at it with a pair of home matches versus St. Thomas Aquinas on Thursday March 12 and Auburn Montgomery on Friday March 13.
