Total Team Effort Lifts Tars to Fourth Straight Victory

Rollins Holds Opponent to Under 50 Points for Third Straight Game

WINTER PARK, Fla. (December 17, 2018) – The Rollins women's basketball squad used a total team effort to highlight an 85-46 route over their opponent in their final home tilt of 2018.  The Tars made easy work of the Trinity Christian Trolls on Monday evening in Warden Arena, seeing 14 of 15 total players earn points on the night en route to their fourth straight win.

The victory advances the Tars to an overall mark of 6-3 on the season, while the Trolls earn their 12th-consecutive loss to drop to 2-12 on the year.

Rollins posted their third straight game holding opponents to under 50 points.  The Tars held Sunshine State Conference opponents Lynn and Palm Beach Atlantic to just 41 points each before surrendering just 46 points to the Trolls.

Denise Daniels, Yari Martinez-Toro, and Vernisha Andrews earned a team best 10 points apiece to lead the team, while Rachel Jablonski, Yoke Tassent, and Tianna Rosser notched eight points each.  Rosser led the Tars off the glass with a team best eight rebounds, followed by Rachel Lia and Andrews with seven each.  Carly McLendon tallied a game high two blocks, and added four points and four rebounds to her stat line.  Martinez-Toro dished out a game high six assists, while Daniels and Rosser led the team in steals with two each.

The Trolls were led by Val Guzman with a game best 15 points, followed by Aubrey Goorman and Breanna Toppen with eight each.  Alexis Knake brought in a team high five rebounds, all defensive, while Kyla Pitts tallied four on the night, including three defensive rebounds, and notched a team best in assists with three.

The Tars crushed Trinity Christian when it came to points off the bench, outscoring the Trolls, 49-9 on the night.  Rollins also stifled their opponent in second chance points, 32-2, points off of a turnover, 23-6, and points in the paint, 36-12.

Rollins returns to action on Saturday, December 29, when they close out the 2018 portion of their season on the road with an SSC tilt against the Saint Leo University Lions.  Fans who are unable to attend the game can follow all of the action live on the Tars Sports Network on, as well as with live stats on
