Set-up: Looking to snap out of a three-game skid, Rollins travels to the Shark Tank on Wednesday to face Nova Southeastern in a pivotal Sunshine State Conference match-up. The Tars are in the middle of the SSC standings and looking to move up and grab a home game for the first round of the SSC tournament. Rollins is tied with Lynn in sixth place at 6-7; the top four host quarterfinal games. NSU sits fourth in the league at 8-5 and has won five of their last six, but is coming off a loss to now 12th-ranked, SSC leader Florida Southern. The Sharks have the second-highest scoring offense in the league but will face a Rollins defense that allows just 58 points a game. Earlier this season, NSU beat Rollins 71-66 in Winter Park.

Tracking the Tars: Rollins' last four games have all been decided by five points or less with the Tars coming up short in three. A four-point win over Florida Tech was followed by a one-point double overtime loss at Lynn, a five-point setback at Embry-Riddle and a two-point heartbreaker to Saint Leo on Saturday. Carly McLendon had 12 points, six rebounds and four blocks to lead the Tars with Vernisha Andrews tallying 10 points and seven rebounds. McLendon is the top producer on the season, putting up 9.7 points, 8.1 rebounds (3rd in SSC) and 2.7 blocks (1st in SSC) a game. Yari Martinez-Toro is getting 9.2 points a night and has a team-best 31 three-pointers. Denise Daniels scores 7.8 points a game while Andrews averages 6.8 points and seven rebounds a game. The Tars are sixth in the conference in scoring at 63.6 points a game and rank fourth in defense, allowing just 58.8 points a game. Rollins outrebounds teams by a league-leading eight a game. The Tars are 2-4 on the road this season.

Tracking the Sharks: NSU won five-straight to close January and made a run up the SSC leaderboard. The Sharks had their streak stopped on Saturday to powerhouse FSC, 88-62 in Lakeland. Alison Hughes led the way with 17 points while Christen Prasse added 14 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. Hughes leads the team at 13.7 points a game. Prasse averages 11.9 points, 7.3 rebounds and 6.3 assists a night. Jordan Tully also averages double figure scoring, putting up 10.9 a game. The Sharks are second in the conference in scoring at 73.1 points a game while sitting ninth in defense, allowing 67 points a night.
