HOUSTON, Texas (May 15, 2018) – Already owners of the most NCAA Division II women's golf titles of any school in the country, Rollins will look to add to its total at the 2018 championship May 16-19 in Houston.

The eighth-ranked Tars are making a record 16th appearance in the national championship, winning six times with six runner-up finishes in the 18-year history of the event. Seniors Madison Lellyo and Lexie Toth join an elite club of playing in four-straight national championships.

Rollins took second at the South Super Regional to punch its ticket into the 2018 tournament. Easily the most challenging region in the country with seven of the top-10 ranked teams in the field, the Tars shot scores of 303-298-308 to finish eight shots behind fourth-ranked Barry and one stroke in front of top-ranked Nova Southeastern. Lellyo finished fifth with an eight-over score of 224 (77-72-75) while Seher Atwal tied for sixth with 226 (74-74-78) strokes. Toth tied for 10th, Selin Timur tied for 23rd and Lara van Staden tied for 54th.

The Tars have six top-five finishes over 11 tournaments this season with a win at the Christian Brothers Buccaneer Spring Classic and runner-up finishes at the Princeton Invitational and Harvard Invitational.

Second Team All-Sunshine State Conference honoree Atwal leads the way with a 74.57 stroke average and six top-10 finishes. She won both the Buccaneer Spring Classic and Harvard Invitational. Lellyo has five top-10 finishes and a 76.08 stroke average while Toth, with three top-10's, carries a 76.30 stroke average. Timur (77.85 avg.) has three top-10 finishes and van Staden posts a 78.92 stroke average.

After a tough start in less than ideal conditions in Findlay, Ohio last season, the Tars finished the 2017 national championship strong and finished sixth. Paige Lyle led the way, finishing tied for 28th with a 27-over score of 315. Toth tied for 33rd, Timur tied for 40th and Lellyo tied for 47th. Atwal withdrew in the second round due to injury, but came back to shoot 84-75 in the final two days.
