ORLANDO, Fla. (October 28, 2019) – Rollins shook off a slow start and grabbed a tie for third place after day one of the Legends Invitational. The Tars are serving as host of the two-year old event at The Country Club of Orlando.
No. 17 Rollins shot matching rounds of 302 and is tied with ninth-ranked Barry at 28-over. Fifth-ranked Dallas Baptist leads the star-studded field at 20-over (293-303) while second-ranked Nova Southeastern is second (297-302, +25). Third-ranked Lynn is fifth at 32-over.
Senior Selin Timur and freshman Liza Eubanks are tied for second at two-over to lead the Tars. Timur tallied three birdies in each of her rounds, turning in scores of 72 an 74. Eubanks opened with an even-par 72 and posted a two-over 74 in the afternoon round.
The Tars B squad is 11th in the standings, shooting rounds of 321 and 316 to sit 61-over.
Katharina Hesee is tied for seventh and just four back of the leader after posting rounds of 77 and 72. The newcomer was seven-over the first eight holes, but fought back to take a place in the top-10. Jennifer Jung shot scores of 74 and 80 to sit tied for 28th at 10-over. Shyanne Lovan is tied for 57th at 21-over (85-80), Julia Malone is alone in 61st (85-84, +25) and Tabby Robinson is 26-over (85-85) in 62st place.
Sophomore McKenna Brown is playing as an individual and is tied for 22nd, shooting scores of 76-77 (+9).
