Rollins Ranks 7th Nationally After Fall Season

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (November 22, 2019) – Coming off of a banner fall season, Rollins moved up to seventh in the WGCA Coaches Poll it was announced Friday.


The Tars garnered 242 points in the ranking, which is dominated by Sunshine State Conference schools. Second-ranked Nova Southeastern, No. 5 Lynn and No. 6 Tampa are just ahead of the Tars. Barry at eight, Saint Leo at nine and Florida Southern ranking 10th gives the SSC seven of the top-10 spots. 

UIndy tops the poll while Findlay (No. 3) and Dallas Baptist (No. 4) are also in the top-10. 

Rollins started the year with a seventh place finish at the Boston College Intercollegiate and then took fifth at Princeton the following week. The fall season was capped with a third place finish at the Rollins Legends Invitational among an elite Division II field. 

Seher Atwal leads the Tars with a 75.09 stroke average in 11 rounds so far this season. Selin Timur has a 76.45 average with both seniors earning top-five finishes. Newcomer Liza Eubanks played in two events, tying for fourth at the Saint Leo Invitational and tying for third at the Legends for a 73.60 stroke average. 

Rollins will start its spring championship February 17-18 at the Lady Moc Classic in Lakeland.
