LAKELAND, Fla. (February 18, 2020) – Seher Atwal shot the lowest score of the final round on Tuesday and led Rollins to a sixth place finish at the Lady Moc Classic in Lakeland.

The now fourth-ranked Tars slipped a spot on the final day, finishing with a 296 and 20-over par score of 884. Rollins' B team finished 16th at the event.

Top-ranked Nova Southeastern won the team title with a two-over 866, edging fifth-ranked Barry by a stroke. Third-ranked Tampa (+7), seventh-ranked Lynn (+15) and No. 11 Saint Leo (+19) finished just ahead of the Tars.

Atwal came into the day tied for 16th at four-over after scores of 74-73 on Monday. She scorched the course Tuesday, firing a three-under 69 and moving into a tie for 10th at one-over for the tournament. Of her 16 rounds this season, five have been par or better with a low of 68.

"I'm happy for Seher to shoot the low round of the day today despite her self-described 'bad putting,' and she managed to get inside the top 10 again," said Head Coach and Director of Golf Julie Garner.

Jennifer Jung tied for 15th at five-over. The sophomore  was even after day one with matching rounds of 72 and followed with a five-over 77 on Tuesday.

Katharina Hesse tied for 21st, turning in scores of 74-75-75 for an eight-over 224. Selin Timur moved up a spot on Tuesday into a tie for 29th, finishing 11-over (78-74-75). Liza Eubanks finished in a tie for 43rd at 16-over, posting scores of 73-82-77.

"Jennifer also had a very solid tournament which helped us maintain our position," added Garner. "There were many bright spots up and down our lineup but overall we need to feel more comfortable shooting lower numbers. We need a bit more consistency in our scoring from many of our team members, so we will continue to work on that for our home tournament in a couple of weeks. After a little break we'll get back in the gym and on the course to continue our march through the season. Lots of progress made and much more to come!"

The Tars B team was 104-over for the event. YeonJoo Kim tied for 39th at 15-over, shooting 74-82-75. Lara van Staden posted an 18-over score for the tournament with rounds of 76-77-81. Tabby Robinson (89-84-81) and Shyanne Lovan (88-82-84) tied for 81st at 38-over while Julia Malone was alone inn 85th with rorunds of 84-85-88 (+41).

Rollins is off until March when they host the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational March 9-10 win Windermere at the Golden Bear Club at Keene's Point.
