WINDERMERE, Fla. (March 9, 2020) – Rollins turned in scores of 301 and 297 on Monday to grab eighth place after day one of the Peggy Kirk Bell Memorial Invitational.
The Tars are serving as hosts of the event at The Golden Bear Club at Keene's Pointe in Windermere.
Saint Leo and Dallas Baptist are both even par and tied for the lead at the 20-team, 117 player tournament. The Lions shot 292-284 while DBU carded 289-287. Florida Southern (+6), Nova Southeastern (+11) and Tampa (+12) round out the top-five.
Florida Southern's Amanda Gartrell leads the field at six-under, with scores of 72-66. Her second round set a new tournament record. Kiira Riihijarvi of Tampa is second at four-under (70-70) while Megan Sabol of North Georgia and Francesca Santoni are both three-under in a tie for third.
Liza Eubanks is tied for 11th to lead Rollins. The freshman shot scores of 70-75 and is one-over for the tournament. Katharina Hesse is tied for 39th at seven-over, shooting scores of 79-72. Jennifer Jung shot rounds of 74-78 and is tied for 44th. Selin Timur (78-76) and Seher Atwal (80-74) are tied for 54th, both at 10-over.
Rollins also has a quartet playing as individuals, led by YeonJoo Kim in a tie for 44th. She shot scores of 75-77 to sit eight-over. Lara van Staden is tied for 67th after scores of 78-79 (+13), Julia Malone is tied for 102 at 21-over (82-83) and Shyanne Lovan posted rounds of 82-88 (+26) and is in 110th.
The 2020 PKB will close on Tuesday, March 10 with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Results will be posted on RollinsSports.com and GolfStat.com at the conclusion of the final round.
