WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 9, 2020) – The Tars moved up one spot in both the IWLCA and Nike/US Lacrosse National Polls. In the IWLCA Ranks Rollins sits at No. 8, while in the Nike/US Lacrosse Poll the Tars jump to No. 7.
Rollins improved to 6-1 on year with three dominating wins last week. The Tars defeated Lander, Wilmington, and North Greenville. Caroline Gastonguay paces the Tars in total points, with 28, and assists with 14, while Hannah Ashton has found the back of the net a team best 22 times this season.
The IWLCA have voted LeMoyne as the top team in the country. They are followed by West Chester, Queens, and Adelphi; with Lindenwood rounding out the top-five. The Nike/US Lacrosse Rankings put Queens at No. 1. Lemoyne occupies the second spot, with West Chester, Indianapolis, and Lindenwood falling in place behind them.
The IWLCA Poll tabbed the Florida Southern Mocs at No. 7, leading the SSC contingent. Rollins at No. 8, and Tampa, at No. 9, are close behind. Saint Leo is No. 18, with Florida Tech moving into the national conversation at No. 25. The No. 7 Tars lead the conference in the Nike/US Lacrosse Poll, with Tampa directly behind them at No. 8. Florida Southern sits at No. 12, with Florida Tech at No. 18, and Saint Leo receiving votes.
Rollins host Lenoir Rhyne on Sunday, March 1, at noon, as the Tars close out a five game home stand.
