WINTER PARK, Fla. (August 30, 2018) – Rollins opened the 2018 campaign with a hard fought 2-2 draw against the No. 9 Lee Lady Flames, Thursday afternoon at Barker Family Stadium.

Kathryn O'Brien tallied her first goal in more than a year, while Jill Richards converted from the penalty spot for Rollins.  Kelly Rowswell came up big with eight saves.  Lauren Peters and Devin Healy found the net for Lee.

O'Brien scored off an assist from Chynna McGirt in just the second minute.  The Lady Flames would equalize just four minutes before the half.  Richards put her penalty opportunity in the top corner to give the Tars their second lead in the 52nd minute.  Healy would bend a corner kick in directly just five minutes later to pull the score even again.

Rowswell tallied two big saves down the stretch of regulation and the defense kept a clean sheet in the overtime periods to preserve the tie.

Rollins improves to 1-0 on the season while Lee drops to 0-1.

The Tars return to action Friday, when they face West Georgia in the friendly confines of Barker Family Stadium.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
