No. 19 Tars Comeback Thwarted by No. 14 Flagler

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (September 21, 2019) – Rollins battled back from a two-goal deficit to tie the game before surrendering a late goal and falling to Flagler 3-2. 

The 19th-ranked Tars fall to 3-2 on the year while 14th-ranked Flagler stays perfect at 4-0. 

The Saints scored back-to-back goals in first half with Charlene Nowotny netting the first in the 25th minute and Sara Sandberg adding another in the 27th

Rollins got on the board in the 33th minute as Sarah Skala headed in a Sarah Buckley corner kick, cutting the Saints lead in half. 

Buckley netted the equalizer in the 73rd minute on a free kick from 10 yards out. 

The Tars momentum was short lived, however, as Nowotny again connected with Sandberg for a goal, this time in the 77th minute which proved to be the game winner. 

Flagler rattled off 17 shots to the Tars 12 on the day. 

Tars keeper Elena Beasley racked up five saves while her counterpart Lisa Dubel stopped two shots. 

Rollins starts its Sunshine State Conference schedule on the road Wednesday, September 25, visiting Florida Southern. Game time is set for 7 p.m. Fans can catch the action live on the Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com.
