Tars Tripped Up in Conference Match

No. 13 Saint Leo – 8 

WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 7, 2018) – The Tars succumbed to the No. 13 Saint Leo Lions in Sunshine State Conference action, 8-1.  Rollins falls to 5-4 overall, and 2-2 in SSC play, while Saint Leo improves to 5-2, and 2-2 in conference action. 

The Tars picked up their lone win of the day in the second doubles position.  Teresa Kaiser and Katie Dyson defeated Marta Vicens Miquel and Andrada Gordan 8-4.  Rollins fell in the first and third spots by the same score, 8-4, to trail 2-1 after team play. 

The Lions swept the singles matches to complete the victory.  The clinching victory came in the sixth position, after Saint Leo started singles action with wins in the third and fourth spots.  Savanna Fuller took the first set of her fifth court match, but ultimately fell in threes sets, 6-7(8), 6-2, 10-3. 

The Tars will host Stonehille on Friday, March 9.  First serve against the Skyhawks is set for 5 p.m.
